This anime was one of the dumbest experiences I ever had in this not so intellectual medium. It has some decent secondary characters and plotlines like this bitch Eva character growth and appreciate it being the only roadmovie set in post coldwar Germany, but main characters were super bland, idealistic and just plain cardboard cutout. Main antagonist was constantly overhyped all along and at climax moments when shit is about to happen we just see him smiling and doing nothing and Tenma yelling at him Disney kid movie ideals or something like that. I am not even sure what did author meant by the last episode where Johan asks Tenma about who was the real monster the day when they took his sister to mansion, like was the point of this fucking anime telling us monsters live in those who commit crimes? No shit Urusawa
