I'm surprised that I'm actually enjoying season 4 so far. Season 2 was a trainwreck, and season 3 boring side characters took the spotlight. Feels like the story is actually going somewhere again.

I wish i could believe that but i kind of feel the damage is done. It´d be one thing if we were talking about just a few deviations or side plots but they totally jump the shark already with things like the guardians and the invasions and in 3 seasons they barely advanced Naofumi relationship with the other heroes.
I can´t believe any show would have 2 seasons of filler so i´m kind of forced to assume that that´s just how the narrative of this goes and let me tell you, i´m not impressed.

It's incredible this is still ongoing.
Only the early Raphtalia story was good, the rest is a trainwreck, all they were doing was adding new girls.

But the fact that you asked and that they actually did it just shows how dead this show is. They just wanted to show her as small again because that popular in the beginning. They've even tried adding more little girls. They're really just flailing around trying to figure out something that sells.
Now that I think about it in hindsight, even Filo might have been just damage control to Raphtalia growing up, because people who watched the beginning signed up for adventuring with daughteru.
