It feels like they're winding down things for another relaunch with completely new character designs and such, moving on from the Gou/Sotsu, ones, which might have played a role in closing Mei in the first place since it was tied to that aesthetic.

According to R07, when asked in an interview, his idea would be Reiwa Mion marrying a new club member that became everyone's favorite target. Yeah, there's no such character in Reiwa and they several times show the club hasn't changed since 1983.

But that just shows how he really was just a supervisor and wasn't paying close attention to that manga.

What could they even do at this point besides just another adaptation of the original VN? The rights to Reiwa are a mess so they aren't turning that into an anime, and the console arcs are likely tje same. They could do that alternative sequel idea where Satoshi wakes up post Matsuribayashi and gets into a conflict with Keiichi but I doubt they'd have the imagination for that, since that wouldn't give them any way to insert the looping fragment bullshit they love so much

Keiichi is almost as gay as Battler.
