What are some cool anime movies for non anime fans? I will be out of town without internet for some days and I want to watch some stuff to not get bored.
I've watched some movies from Studio Ghibli and I thought they were pretty cool.
I've also watched Child of Kamiari Month and I thought it was cute but it was too slow for me. Needed more action.
Sorry for the bad English.

Which Ghibli films have you watched? I like Castle in the Sky because it's pretty low fantasy imo. Gunsmith Cats is only 3 episodes but I know at one point they were sold as a sort of ova movie, that's an option I guess.

Satoshi Kon films are all a pretty safe bet. Like the other anons say, Memories is brilliant and worth watching for the Magnetic Rose section alone. I'd also recommend Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2, plus Jin-Roh.
