I just fucking cried tears of joy at the ending of Eureka Seven. Never seen it before despite growing up in the 2000s. It made me so nostalgic for back then and I miss my family and sister. This shows music, the colors, characters. I loved it all so much. I want to surf in the sky. It was beautiful.
Are the sequels really that bad?
I liked AO cause of it's comfy Okinawan themes and the characters are pretty good in their own right but the plot is obnoxiously shit and it's not a love story like E7. As for the Hi-Evolution movies I don't really remember them, I think I liked the Anemone one but the other two were eh.
>>280801212 (OP)I have it in my backlog, is it that good?
as for the sequel, I've seen through the years that most anons despise it
>>280801356>I have it in my backlog, is it that good?I've been watching anime my whole life but I'm kind of a casual faggot and havent watched much so don't let my post hype it up too much for you. But I really enjoyed it. I went in blind with no expectations and it was one of those things that just hit me in the right way at the right time and made me fall in love with it. I kind of lost what was happening near the end with the more scifi stuff and when I got lost in ancient posts from the mid 2000s a lot of people seemed to find the characters annoying. But they really grow a lot and grow on you. I wish there was more Dominic and Amenome though. They were set up like rivals and parallels to the protagonist and his love interest.
>>280801338I think I'll watch AO but I'm going to wait a long time from now so the tonal changes dont bother me
ES was my favorite show growing up, and it hits even harder as an adult. Glad to see it getting more recognition after 20 years. I really enjoyed AO, but it makes more sense after watching the movies even though they came later
It's always been a little kodomo for my taste.
Yes the sequels are that bad. They retroactively make Dewey right.
>>280802074Sub I think the only dub I ever saw as an adult was fucking Samurai Pizza Cats
Why don't they show Eureka getting impregnated?
>>280801929>They retroactively make Dewey right. What the fuck I'm afraid to ask how they could fuck up show like this. Did the director get depressed or something?
>>280802338There were at least a dozen metaphorical vagina and birth things in the last few episodes
>>280802342Choral gonna choral. Credible existential threat.
I think in just wanting conflict in the sequels they took the dumbest route without thinking what it meant about what the original had to say.
>>280802267You didn't watch black lagoon dubbed?
>>280802366Yes, but we never get to see the act of copulation.
>>280802377I like how the scuba choral was basically a hippy version of the Borg from Star Trek. It really fit with the tone of the show in the end. Like Summer of Love, surf culture and all the musical references.
>>280802342>Did the director get depressed or something? His original bittersweet 2deep4u ending got vetoed and he's been salty ever since. Every installment afterward goes out of its way to ruin the original.
>>280802610Why doesnt he just use a new IP for depressing mecha stories or something? Its been 20 years stop killing it. It's already dead.
>>280802451That's something that the kind of sequel it should have had would have included.
>>280801212 (OP)>Are the sequels really that bad?Nah, they are even worse than bad.
Anemone was the hottest girl on the Toonami block.
>>280801212 (OP)Read the manga. It's a super dark and twisted retelling of the anime where the Gekkostate are actual ecoterrorists that murder people and Dewey is the good guy. I'm not joking either, that's how it is.
>>280803263I'm Canadian who else was there on that thing?
>>280803291>where the Gekkostate are actual ecoterrorists that murder people But that's the anime too.
>>280803291Dewey was the good guy in the anime as well.
>>280802610Probably the only real case of editors making the final product better.
