Stone Ocean didn't really have a point and is by far the worst part

Its about doing the right thing even if you are going to fail because your legacy can live on past you and make something greater.
Fate was favoring Pucci, but that didn't mean that everyone else had to quit or give up or run away. Because in not doing so, they set up a chain of events that caused Pucci to cut himself off of Fate and let Emporio, a representation of the next generation, kill him and create a better timeline.

If you know you're going to fail at something important and meaningful, are you going to avoid doing it? Or will you do so regardless because it is about the process rather than the destination?

The point is stand battles same as it has been since part 3. Really since part 2 since you could tell the author wanted characters playing 4000D chess with each other as the basis of all fights since before he came up with stands.
