I think because it is because of a combination of factors, a fantasy story and there are a lot of them already, the manga looks appealing for the girl readers but then the story has nothing that could be considered fanservice for girls, it is also probably too serious and dark for the average weekly shonen sunday reader which are mostly kids and old women
