When will anime and manga writers learn that a cool premise and characters aren't enough to sell a series and that you have to actually do something interesting with it? Doesn't matter how many cool characters you have if most them contribute absolutely nothing meaningful to the plot

It is enough to sell a series. Their publisher wouldn't sell anything if it lasted short. The premise has plenty of plot holes for you to get invested in.

Also, you need to stop reading shonen or shojo manga
