Vinland Saga is not like other anime you've watched until now. It's very mature: it's not for kids and it's not because of violence or whatever, it's because the themes are very adult. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, since it is a masterpiece of an anime (it's one of those that elevates the source material, with amazing animation, soundtrack, voice acting, etc. which honours the original manga)
