I think I found a way to fix dbz and Broly.
It's a harem about Broly. The saiyans are never eliminated, Broly becomes king. There's no other transformations beyond super saiyan 1 for other characters.

Paragus runs away with him living as a nomad as they travel further away from their home planet, and Broly makes it his mission to go back for revenge once he's old and confident enough to. His personality is still badass, but not so unhinged he blows up everything in sight around him. His revenge starts as a young teen, because that's when people start wanting independence and getting cocky.

Upon his unaurthorized landing some saiyans try to arrest him. He says he's their new king, beats them easily like small children, and demands to be taken to king vegeta. They refuse. He lets them live so they can witness his coming and spread the word. The saiyan army finds out about him, they basically nuke him, but he's unfazed. He becomes mega chad of the people and deposes king vegeta peacefully because there's no need for a fight. Broly meets frieza as the new king and kills him.

My god, DBS Broly is an abomination. Talk about taking a legendary, beloved character and raping him to death. Even after his passing, I didn't forgive Toriyama for not only raping Broly but Bardock in one fucking NON-CANON movie.
