how does /a/ track and rate animanga? personally, i use anilist and rate it on the scale of 5, where
>5 being loved it, 4 being liked it, 3 being fine, 2 being bad, and 1 being hated it
I use anidb because I torrent.
I don't rate because I don't care.
>>280875269 (OP)I stopped rating things years ago because I realized 90% of the shit one watches is not even worth to think critically about enough to form a rating on
>was poopendicken harem in my isekai wonderland a 5 or a 7??Who gives a fuck, it's not worthwhile enough to rate to begin with
>>280875269 (OP)spreadsheet
don't rate stuff. if its something i rewatch frequently and store in my NAS, then its probably a show that i like. i dont need pointless number scores for my heuristics.
>>280875269 (OP)I don't track things anymore. If it's in the season I watch it. Otherwise I just skip it.
I log on both mal and anilist. mal because I've been using it since 2008 and it's sometimes nice to go in there and see what times I logged individual chapters or episodes, and anilist because other than missing that feature it's a far better website. plus it's all automated so it's no big deal. I log manga to both of those plus mangaupdates
I don't bother rating things. but if I did, my 5 point rating system is basically the same as yours. 5 can't imagine not having watched/read, 4 solid, 3 not a waste of time, 2 a waste of time, 1 dogshit. if I went any more granular than that I'd have to go super autistic about ranking absolutely everything I've seen and then assigning ratings to the decimal point, and I already don't care enough to do basic ratings
>>280875269 (OP)I rate it either good or bad
there are like 10 series that are good, the rest is trash
so I don't have a need for tracking
>>280875269 (OP)What do you need to track it for? If somethings good you'll remember it, if not who cares?
And ratings are useless unless everyone takes them seriously which they don't.
the absolute vitriol towards mal is a perfect example of newfags trying too hard to fit in. back in the day people had no problem using mal, they just hated the community, both ratings and forums. newfags saw that and went "oh I need to hate mal to fit in"
