Yeah it was a pretty intense watch. Like now it hits me how fucked up so many situations were and as a kid I had really strong empathy for the characters. It was intense and traumatizing for sure, even if I never really registered it as such.

The anime director wanted to shill his OC song, so he got rid of the source of the original song the series was named after. It probably would have been hard to wrap up her story arc without having a second cour to cover the post-timeskip stuff, too, since it revolves around her taking entrance exams, which take place during the winter.
