EPISODE 17 "The Natsudori Ritual"

(ep 16 spoilers) Hairi and Shiroha find themselves drawn to each other, and their feelings are now mutual. Shiroha reveals a hidden truth to Hairi. She has seen a vision of the future where she drowns during the "Natsudori Ritual", an event passed down on Torishirojima Island. She believes she will probably lose her life there.

(ep 17 part A spoilers) Accepting Shiroha's confession, Hairi resolves to avert that future with her. He pleads with Shiroha's grandfather, Kobato, to allow him to be by her side during the ceremony. The condition Kobato gives is that Hairi must defeat him in the island's traditional "underwater martial arts".
