Imagine having the most talented animation team on the planet, an extremely talented composer and a great premise for the story and still making one of the most boring shows ever made. Kyoani is the pinnacle of wasted potential.

The movie was boring and unnecessary and did more harm than good, but the rest of the series was great. I really like the Gaiden special, which might as well have been the actual movie.

If you think the show is bad read the LN it's 10x worse writing. The whole show has the same issue that shit like Kaoru Hana Wa Rin To Saku does where it feels like it's written by a 13 year old girl who doesn't understand relationships or love at all, but in this case the 2 shows are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Still liked it though some arcs were fun and the visuals carried hard.
