The anime is better than the manga btw. The manga's pacing rushes hard near the end. The anime's slower approach and more melancholic energy by the last few episodes is great. Dezaki is a master of his craft and if some autist bitches about "huurrrr Nishi was at da final fight in the anime!' then just ignore them. The anime takes the series further through its direction and stellar soundtrack. Not to mention some of the most iconic performances from a anime.

BTW I own the entire series in Japanese and spent some time at that ANJ bar in Japan.
