Just finished the Conviction Arc and frankly I was pretty disappointed overall (not counting Lost Children which was amazing but basically separate from the main story)

It felt like a lot of great ideas (eggy) and a lot of bad ideas (Nina’s “arc”, eggy’s pseudo Apostles) where the bad parts unfortunately felt like they got so much more screen time than the good parts.

Also how fucking long is Casca gonna act like a retarded child?

You are entering the shonen slop phase. Casca is retarder until almost the very end. Be ready for even more shonen slop.

>You are entering the shonen slop phase
Is it really that bad? And does it get better at least?
>Casca is retarder until almost the very end
But why? She was such a great character in Golden Age why kneecap the story like that?

Also I feel like the religious commentary was a complete failure, Father Mozgus is such an extremist caricature it’s impossible to take him seriously. Also the fact that there actually are baby eating heretic orgies makes the anti-church message a bit hollow. Farnese realizing she actually isn’t religious she’s just sexually attracted to having power over the people she’s killing is just retarded. Her brother(?) is cool though.

I don't even think it was trying to be anti-church, so much as showing how absolutely everything is fucked, and show why people were so eager to follow Griffith as their savior.

>plague and famine devastating towns and villages
>the Kushan empire is invading
>the church is going full-on totalitarian inquisition
>there's a fucked up pagan cult sacrificing people
>there's a growing supernatural presence menacing the land

Suddenly, the Hawk of Light shows up, and all this shit seems to shrink away from his very presence.
