By the end of the season, you'll realise marin actually does little to nothing in their relationship. There's almost no give and take, while not being overtly spoiled Marin actually does nothing for Gojou. Gojou does her outfits, goes with her to events, takes care of her when she was ill when she did not do the same for him, etc. Even if they both fall for each other and it's all very sweet, even until their confession(s) their relationship has been very unbalanced, even if you view it from the male or female perspective. Almost all of Gojou's character development and stepping out of his trauma/shadow comes from self-realization and experience via Marin, not through anything Marin does or says. Knowing this kinda sours the romance.
