Rin-ne is Rumiko Takahashi's return to comedy after Inuyasha. Rin-ne is VIZ's localized title, presumably chosen to assist in pronunciation. The original title is 境界のRINNE (Kyokai/Kyoukai no Rinne) which means Rinne of the Boundary. While it is not a megahit like some of her other huge series, I highly recommend it to fans of Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura though it is obviously different.

I will be using scans of the official VIZ localization. Be aware that some of the larger images may have been edited to be lower quality due to image size limits.

In addition, I will be dumping the one short story from the Rumic World and Rumic Theatre series that came out around this time. Today, the scans I have of the one shot are provided by a reader who generously translated and typeset the raws provided any another reader. I greatly appreciate this and I am glad something productive came about from my threads. Today, that will be "My Sky".

Original title was いまわしき予言. Furinkan gave "Unlucky Prophecy". Google gave "Dire Prophecy".

Also, on an unrelated note, I really like the cover for this volume. Very cute.

サララップ (saranrappu) on the tool. As in, saran wrap. Saran is apparently a trade name so, Saran wrap is trademarked. Though it seems that "shrink wrap" isn't being used correctly here and "plastic wrap" or "cling wrap" would be more accurate. Shrink wrap apparently needs to have heating applied to it. I admittedly have used the term shrink wrap to refer to cling wrap though.

End of chapter. Whoops. Furinkan has two notes: "The name of the third Mikazukisai's book is "我が反省/Wa ga Hansei", "My Life" or "My Recollections". However, because "Hansei" is written in English, it is a homophone and actually means "Hansei" as in "反省" (failures)." which VIZ localized as "My Regrets". And they mention that "The name of the store that Rinne takes the scythe to is 銀はがし (Gin hagashi). This is something like "Silver Scratch-Off"." but VIZ went with something that appears to be very literal.

Original title is 児童館の異変. Furinkan translated it as "The Unusual Event at the Children's Home". 児童館 is a term that refers to specific establishments, it seems. Either way is accurate enough, but Children's Center is probably more clear.

These are used for ritual purification in Shinto and often have shide (紙垂), zig-zag paper streamers attached to them.
