Toriyama was a notorious procrastinator, often waiting until a few days before deadline to start drawing the week's chapter. Finishing a chapter in just two or three days is amazing in itself, but there are reports that he once drew an *entire chapter* in a single day. I don't know how this is even possible, and the reports might be false--but if anyone can do such a thing, it would be him. He always skipped the storyboard stage, which must have saved time, but he also didn't rely on assistants much, preferring to draw and ink everything himself, even the backgrounds. Is it possible that Toriyama drew an entire chapter of Dragon Ball in one day?

Depends on which chapter we're talking about. I can believe it if it's mostly low-detail stuff and simple character line art. Anyone doing this stuff for a living, especially at the rate that Toriyama produced stuff, is going to be able to outline their characters within just a few minutes. If you've ever seen these people work in person it's actually awe-inspiring how quickly they can do a headshot of their MCs, or a character profile, especially at a convention. It's almost like a fucking signature for them. Autism in motion.
Really beautiful stuff. Value the artists you like because what they can do is really special.
