What the fuck is going on
And done. Even more bullshit can happen in this manga.
See you tomorrow
>>280960823Thank you OP, slow Sunday, there was some good conversation last thread
>>280960445ENTER
no, seriously, a black hole that size would have the gravity of jupiter, earth would be ripped apart by tidal forces alone
>>280960625>nobody knows what happens inside a black holecertainly not fucking this, what the fuck.
this chapter unironically made me an earthchild fan, it's so delightfully retarded but also so charmingly earnest. i kept reading hoping i'd see bullshit of this caliber i did
>>280962129NOBODY REALLY KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN NEAR A BLACK HOLE
>>280960206Look at those HOOVES
>>280960735So is Mamoru going to keep developing weirdly fast and make the entire decision null?
>>280960799This page is like the most uncertain-feeling
>hell yeah motherfucker>hell yeah motherfuckerever
>>280960445the earth should have been gone in less of a fraction of a second if a black hole appears on eath
>>280962680>hell yeah motherfucker?
>>280960206You know, thinking about it, it's pretty unethical to do this (I mean no shit, but hold on).
Earthchildren are the Earth's immune system or whatever, created by the planet to deal with a specific threat incoming in a certain amount of time. This means that whatever they're tasked with is something they can handle by the time it comes around naturally.
WastE forcing the aging procedure on them is only for one reason. To be able to use the Earthchildren earlier. For menial bullshit that's not their duty.
>>280960625Yeah I think that checks out, scientifically speaking.
>>280965423it's weird how much the manga skims over how evil waste actually is, they even get introduced trying to forcibly kidnap a baby and delete his dad's memories. coming next chapter he is sucking Best Dad's totally average, normal cock
>>280962642no, the author just wanted to force a sweet moment
The way this guy draws eyes reminds me of Moonrise and Franken Fran
>>280960206If it's an innate part of the system, then why do only select people know about it?
>>280960445they should be dead already
>>280960555Wait, what?
Wasn't he like 200 meters underground, under the sea bed?
Also, how does a normalfag just hold a black hole?
And how did any of this get solved in the first place?
>>280960625Of course! It makes perfect sense!
>>280960660>non-compatible heart transplantHe should be 100% dead by now.
>>280960766>>280960799why even introduce the concept, then? waste of time
>>280965423Depends on how competent you believe the Earth to be. No way that guy reaches underground where the black hole was without human engineering. Waste helps solving the problems faster.
>>280960445what the actual fuck

>>280965423In this particular case, I don't think Mamoru's purpose in life is to save his mom, but save the Earth from some other threat that won't come around for years.
>>280966978I don't think he's holding a black hole
He's holding a white hole, and plugging the black hole with it (not sure why he had to plug the hole with himself as well. Couldn't he just throw it?)
>>280981981Is this sex talk?
>>280960625I can't stop laughing lmao
>>280960660>Not compatible but If I try my best I can still liveThat not how heart and blood work
>My brother tail me in secretWasn't this a government operation? How the fuck did the brother tail him in secret when you need specialize equipment to even reach the place?
>Nobody know what might happen to humans who get near a black holeThey know. The difference in gravity would stretch your body out and kill you instantly. What people don't know is what happen if once manage to go past the event horizon.
So I have a feeling that the brother's fate was planned to be a major plot point in the future if the series was left to continue

I appreciate including an ass shot in a panel where it barely makes sense.
Also it feels like we skipped the entire part of them exiting the planet and travelling to the ISS.
It definitely feels like we've entered axe pacing, which makes having 20 chapters left feel extremely off.

A reprieve from the axe, most likely. Maybe WSJ did not have anything worthy to serialize in Earthchild's place, or they wanted to give the author more experience with weekly deadlines for his next attempt?

>>281079529You know, I appreciate the author drawing two parents when they could easily just be one character.

>>281079774Kick out a dad as best as him? Who would do that?
>>281079996>>281080032I recognize that this isn't a logical manga and is very much about love and feelings, and that's fine. If Mamoru had just magically realized the rock was his mom by picking up on his grandparents' feelings, I'd accept that.

>>281079708this panel looks funny out of context
So far, I think the author's pretty decent at writing emotional scenes, even if they are happening a bit too frequently (pretty much every single chapter has at least one), but where he really falters is how we get to each one of those emotional scenes, since it just feels like complete nonsense.

>>281108664why are they training now? shouldn't they have trained to do this earlier?
>>281110154yeah, everyone back then assumed it was gonna be a u19 because of how it felt like it was wrapping up, but then the author just kept introducing random shit.

>>281108640Hold on, this is implying that they keep making the fucking trip between the earth and the ship.
For training.
>>281111841yes, remember when they discussing aging mamoru because flying up there was supposed to be a big deal?
>>281111916Sure, and people had an issue with them just going back to earth to visit the grandparents.

>>281108872You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
>>281109135Now I wonder how the author will walk back from this one
>>281103051Not really. HxH is wordier than the average shonen, but that's a cherrypicked page.
I do wonder what the plan, if any, was for the story.
The first chapter doesn't give you a proper look at what's coming but you'd reasonably assume one of two things
>story about the dad raising the kid
>timeskip to the kid being older and having to be a superhero
The various timeskips in chapter 1 allow you to make up random flashbacks in the wife if you ever need her for something while keeping her dead.
Instead of any of this happening, the story instantly pivots to the wife actually still being alive, which undoes a lot of the good moments from chapter 1, and the story is now about a rescue mission to save her.
I just don't get it.

Seriously though, no, I don't think so. She redirected the meteor by driving the spaceship at it(?) and was supposedly dead, until it turns out she was rocks now.

This whole manga is stupid, but I'm really starting to hate the main couple. They are aggressively boring and one-dimensional. They (and their baby, but that's understandable) have no personality beyond being nice and heroic. They have all the depth of a sickly sweet NPC couple from an advert, and worse yet, they are the product. All the other characters only seem to exist to glaze them, or seethe with jealousy over their awesomeness. The plot is completely nonsensical. It's getting real old. And maybe all of this wouldn't be so bad if the heroine weren't a secret child bride, which the story fails to meaningfully address.
>>281151005Only this manga could possibly spawn this reply.
>>280960555this feels like a pretty stupid plot point.
>>281152906What else would you call it?
>>281150288A terrible medical condition
>>281151005the child bride part is so weird because it goes so absolutely nowhere. there was no need to age up mamoru and thus no need to introduce that plot point.
he probably simply thought of an obstacle that week, then when it was passed he washed his hands off of it
the protagonist is the worst for me. he is an egoist who demands everything to go his way and everyone just bends over backward to satisfy him even if they are introduced as hating him. and the they all glaze how normal he is
>>281108664Why is his ass so fat?
>>281155830The protagonist might be more wholesome than chungus keanu, and the "returning from space to visit the inlaws" shit was pretty selfish and dumb, but at least he didn't cause a citywide blackout just to make out with his child wife. This couple really is horribly vapid and self-centered, the seething astronaut girl has every reason to seethe.
>>281157078the blackout was hilarious, imagine how much fucking damage she caused with that stunt
>>281157128In hindsight, what makes the main characters so obnoxious to me is that they are very much like real entitled, moronic couples. They do brainless shit like showing up unannounced with their kid in tow, changing their baby in inappropriate places and leaving behind a trail of vomit and baby crap, blocking path with their kid's stuff, etc. all the while they expect the people around them to bend themselves backwards to accomodate them because their family is oh so precious. Except in this case it's not just main character syndrome. They really are main characters, which also means they can inconvenience others with their stupidity on a much bigger scale, like the blackout stunt because the girl wanted some privacy in a public space. They remind me of annoying celebs with their spoiled influencer kids.
The protagonist is annoyingly preachy too
>>281158810thanks, you reminded me of my brother-in-law's sister changing her little satan spawn right on our family billiard table, soiling it with poop.

>>281159337An ass slut, but if I'm reading things right he's gonna end up with the grumpy chick... Truly the most unrealistic part of this manga.
>>281008424>to give the author more experienceHe's a veteran
I don't get why this manga about a young 20 something dad whose main thing is that he changes diapers and goes "I HECKING LOVE MY FAMILY" every 5 minutes was serialized in a shounen magazine. The amount of bullshit is very shounen like, but the rest is not. It's more like seinen, or maybe josei, it's just that the writing is godawful. How did it make it to 3 volumes?
>>281161036You know, I think you've just hit on the core issue here
This series has a decent basic premise, and some interesting ideas(I genuinely think Kareri being ten years younger would've been a good plot point in a better manga), but it's bogged down bad by being a shounen. With a heavier atmosphere, longer chapters, and adult demographic, it could've given itself the time and respect to give us a decent story about a man desperate to make him family whole again, while dealing with the fact that nothing about said family is at all normal
>>281161036it made to three volumes out of sheer luck. iirc both op and bc entered unplanned hiatuses and a few series ended naturally/were moved
doron had a similar luck, they ended at the same time
We did it. This will make a meaningful difference for the people of earth.
