What is the consensus at /a/ on Project A-ko?

Fucking great

I saw it in the early 90's I think around 93 or 94. I had never seen anything like it before and it made me aware of anime as genre since I knew that it was very different from the cartoons I watched before. I have a soft spot for it even though I have not watched it in 20+ years.

The missile hopping scene is genius.

The humor reminded me a lot of Dr. Slump, especially the scenes with the teacher. It also felt incredibly dated but I liked it for what it was.

Meh...cool animation, but it's pretty boring when there isn't an action scene happening. I will check out the sequels tho
