The real answer is that her character was flanderized as the harem grew over time.
What I'd like to think is that Siesta had the desire to mother the children of the legendary hero to advance the status of her own lineage beyond nameless indentured servitude, and she was just plucky enough to assert herself over Louise using the only god-given advantage she had on that woman: her body. She wasn't able to outright steal him, but she made it into the house at the end, so she might get knocked up yet! Even if they are illegitimate, those kids will still have some claim to nobility where she has none. That explains the desperation.

Very nice text anon. Some would say that fanfiction withdrawal is hitting us hard but Siesta's behavior was more or less outlined in the show or self-evident.
The curse of this anime is that it has concepts of mindblowingly good art but it was a harem anime first and it had to fit into 50 episodes.

Yep. One episode she had basically given up on him but the next one she decided she will step way out of line while trying to win Saito. She was a very nice character before that point and showing Saito how to live like a commoner was my favourite arc
