>>281129963>the violence, death, and exertion broke him in the endI know this makes for a romantic interpretation of Kamille's catatonic state, but it's not really what happened.
Kamille had two motivations: lust and anger. Him throwing a ragefit kicks off the events of the show, and then he meets a string of hot babes he wants to bang/save/understand. Right up to the end, he goes into the last battle angry at a groomer and wanting to save Sarah, so both his motivations are intertwined. It takes a literal newtype mindrape to stop him.
Kamille is the story of an angry horny autistic who doesn't understand any of his hormonal teenage moods. Amuro is closer to the more traditional "idealist/innocent who gets corrupted/jaded/broken down by war" character arc, but not entirely because Tomino is a good writer.
