Some of my friends IRL are animeonlies and we will sometimes talk about shows that have nothing to offer other than great animation. These dudes would openly admit that they do know the writing is trash, but said shows still gave them their weekly eye candy fix and that's already good enough in their books.

LNs and VNs can be just as derivative and the thinly veiled context of the thread is titles where a manga is the source material. It's not without reason that some people will argue that LNs are the modern pulp fiction. But I agree that gunplafags are retards, they should have just bought Robot Spirits instead.

Manga readers follow a series consistently, they’re going to be more critical of flaws and pick up on details anime onlies won’t and will spend time crafting theories. They are more genuine in when it comes to being fans

Anime watchers have the self-control to wait until the material is adopted to a better medium. OP's pic in unrelated to this, but almost all modern manga is written with the aspiration of being adopted to an anime.
