There's no goddamn justice in a world where Shoto Todoroki is less talked about and less memorized/iconic than the other characters in the series. He had like a Zuko/Baki Hanma type of sub story and people still want to self insert into Deku or post useless female porn. What kinda cruel setup up for a potentially compelling character is this? I have never seen a writer put the barest minimum in a character who has the most frequent character changes yet is both a jobber and barely used in the fighting parts, while still ending up above in rankings even above deku and bakugou, because its just not that big a deal.

I hate badly executed characters who started off good but ended up terribly lazy written and dull in the endgame. This reflects the fambase, Shoto went from a cool compelling character in the beginning since the fighting festival, to just a fujoshi angst archetype

He is about the second or thi d character with most screen time possibly only after Deku (who's the fucking MC so what do you expect) and Bakugo.
And actually, unlike Bakugo, the gave Todoroki, Endeavor and their family a whole subplot about their problems with Dabi.
Also, he is well characterized, going from looking like an edgy intense kinda douchy dude to actually just your autistic friend who is shit at social stuff because he was never given the chance to grown socially.
And the fact he is given a higher ranking than Bakugo and Feku while being the most chill of them is also kinda amusing and ironic in a way.

That doesnt matter, Bakugou gets a higher standing than Shoto and is praised for it more than Todoroki. Ranking wise, just a consolation prize, if this was a battle shonen, Bakugou would beat Todoroki and possibly be the number 1 hero. Also Bakugou is so popular he gets his own movie. Shoto gets minute screen time devoted to his plot and its all roughly a short summary of Endeavor and Dabis story and Shoto moving on.

No hes not supposed to be this easily resolved, no good writer would make Shoto easily the protagonists friend and lag between him and his father. Its just a lazily cop outta make Shoto not stick out, his social problems weren't a big deal, nor his family issues with the rest of the cast, the dude just became a placeholder to make Deku grow and enjoy student life. Bakugou of all people made more meaningful friends than Shoto, Shoto was just camping with wallflowers like him, him and Iida and Deku was teamed up because Hori wanted Todo to be boring and bland on purpose while Iida and Deku seemed more lively.

All of it is lazily rushed out shit, no explanation way shoutonis ahead, hori just doesnt fucking carez we get more emphasis on deku becoming a hero against than thr next generation and still shouto is written as a perfect angel whos popular just because, even though bakugou is more powerful and everything deku and all might became famous for.

Yes, bnha would have been better if deku didn't exist. Specifically if it focused on Shoto and Endeavor. Even more specifically if it was a seinen with Endeavor as the MC.
