Most people who watch/read Hanako-kun are women, in particular teenage girls.
If you want the active discussion, you need to go to tumblr.

desu I can't blame /a/ for not being on-board with the show's glacial plot development. It's really just surviving off the cute artstyle and characters.

Yeah my Tumblr feed is full of this after every episode except
>Tumblr
>Discussion
Lolno, that place is more of a hugbox than Reddit and no one ever dares to disagree because you will just get blocked out of a blog you follow then.
People have some good insights and perspectives though but no one ads to them or disagrees with them either. It's basically a blogging space where people blog into the void and like it.

Truth. I thought I was the only one who thought that.
It's a good example of a title where “things just happen” with no real plan to it. New events reference old ones but there's no planned mystery with old events raising interesting mysteries whose answer is clearly planned in advance.

>with the show's glacial plot development
I'm surprised people think that.
I finished reading the entire manga after catching up with the anime and thought that it was both paced fine, but also that the anime was shockingly fast (by the end of this season, it should be around Volume 16/17, which is a lot for a show that has only three cours worth of episodes).
I'm honestly baffled by how much the OP shows, since it implies that two more arcs after this current one will be adapted, and it makes sense from a storytelling perspective, but is absurd in consideration of the sheer scale being crammed into one cour.

Well, that's not really what discussion is. I moreso meant that's the site with the most dialogue on the show between its users.
>It's basically a blogging space where people blog into the void and like it.
Yeah, it's just an "aesthetic" version of blogspot.

Well I mean they don't respond or interact with each other even, not even to say “I agree”. They just reblog and like for the most part and that's it which is really a shame because many of those users unlike on 4chan and especially Reddit have some really good insights to add on titles and really care for characters and their perspectives but almost no one comments on it either. People just write their impressions of the last episode and it's fun to read but it's rare to see a further discussion about it. either as a reblog or comment.

Yeah, they say a lot, long posts and impressions and they point out very interesting things about the episodes you may have missed, though some is also people just posting retarded headcanon as usual.

What the fuck is that it.
Nene's death was just solved like that? That's the climax to that?

This was like the only interesting thing about this title and it was just solved in this anticlimactic way?

Yeah, that lack of disagreement is an issue, but I think it allows a lot of its users to ultimately be more interesting (if there are some who can be more shallow as a result).
It's the only site that promotes writing as a facet of creativity, so it leads to more interesting blogs even to this day, as people who can't draw to express their love for something will still be encourage to contribute.
But my ultimate point was simply that Hanako-kun is a series that only really gets traction over there in English. Just how the fanbase overlap works. I think a lot of people have genuinely no idea how dominant younger woman are in regards to this series, it's like crack to a lot of them (and the deepest irony is that the most popular ship is Hanako/Nene, when most other franchises have at least 3 gay ships in their top ranking).

Didn't read the manga but there's no way Nene won't freak the fuck out when she realizes what happened and demands Hanako to bring her back somehow, forfeiting her own life again.
I can't see how it could go anywhere else.

Yeah that's actually a good point that it's not over yet. I hope they don't just never mentioned it again and now it's all solved. THat would be so anticlimactic.

It gets a lot of traction elsewhere too though. I feel this is really just some part of /a/ that really seems to forget that foids are still 50% of this wretched species and in fact not just something that only exists as lines on paper in Japanese cartoons.

But yeah there's a lot of elaborate writing on tumblr and it's nice that unlike on /a/ images can be interwoven with text, not just put on the side so it basically functions as an imageboard with more creativity to it but the amount of actual interaction is so low.
