Nip fiction delves too much into escapism, power fantasies, what ifs, should haves, and could haves. They ought to explore the reality that there is no fantasy world with magic and fairies for you to go to, there is no latent superpower you have yet to awaken, you will not magically wake up as your high school self, you do not get to reincarnate as a baby with all your memories, no teenage virgin is queuing up to hop on your dick, and that no one is coming to save you.
why are you here instead of exploring said reality?
>>281160616 (OP)what is the point in wasting resources turning reality into fiction when you already have reality?
you're better off just making fiction
They explore this all the time. Watch more anime faggot.
>>281160616 (OP)Wrong. Escapism is good. Those who disagree want to imprison people. You are evil.
>>281160616 (OP)There's a lot of japanese media that deals with more realistic scenarios but those don't get otaku bucks and the ones that don't get otaku bucks never make it onto /a/'s radar
you're only engaging with media made for middle schoolers
>why aren't the children's and teenager's shows I watch more mature??
do you also turn on cartoon network and complain there's not enough realism
>>281160616 (OP)You're probably already aware that Takopi's Original Sin just finished but have something equally if not more stupid to say about it
>>281160616 (OP)Dunning-Kruger on full display right here.
>>281160616 (OP)have you tried reading a book
One of the easiest ways to understand a piece of art is to learn to create art yourself. Then you'll understand the thrill of creating something that appeals to you on such a base level that you'll want to realize it's creation. You'll understand that there is something that feels divinely given when you draw or paint or write something so effortlessly for yourself that you didn't even need to plan for it or prepare rough sketches. Eventually you'll come to understand that it becomes sort of addicting to create more than just a single piece of art or a single character's design, but to imagine a world that could sustain that design.
This is why Japanese artists spend so much time with fantasy. It's enjoyable to escape their world with such a primacy on efficiency and tangible results and hierarchical systems. In exchange for being willing to go against the grain in a culture that punishes individuality, there's a chance of material reward for indulging your creativity. There's very little incentive as an artist to reflect solely the ugliness of the world back to itself. You are rarely inspired or satisfied by that impulse and the world rarely rewards you for it.
>>281160794This. Anti escapism fags are disgusting
>>281160616 (OP)That's because you watched/read shonen/shoujo
The purpose of that genre of media is to encourage their teenage audience to do their best instead of doompilling them.
Seinen and josei are more pragmatic/cynical.
