Maybe something connected to the exam arc? If you think about it, the only characters that were brought back from it were Mako and the axe girl. Kiyoshi and Tosaka didn't reunite yet, no expeditions to the demon world yet and we don't know what the fuck was that one examineer with demonic eyes. They also recently namedropped Tsurugi's older brother but never explained why he and Sakaki parted ways. And we still don't know much about Kiyoshi's past or the demon who attacked him. I'm not sure if it's possible to go up powerlevel wise for Kiyoshi but sidegrades are possible.

yeah, the manga was never about the power levels when it came to kyoushi early on until roth showed up, I just think this might be the peak for the manga, though I did prefer the original episodic structure of the manga over this black parade arc (I only care about kyoushi's and the kid that fuses with his demon friend's fight)

Don't think they can't do it forever. Kiyoshi sale right now is terrible, and other series sold it better.

I really wanna know who's pulling the strings, from the exorcists side. There's also this Caellum order, which is one of the big three. I like this manga, it's mid and it knows it, and yeah this last battle is too long, but I can see it living past this arc, and the mangaka improving as well.

I think if Vol 5 does not perform better or the gap between UEK and Shinobi+Hima gets even bigger they will just greenlight UEK going into the actual last arc. There ia probably going to be at least 2-3 cooldown chapters for characters recovering or Kiyoshi participating in school activities.
