>>281179333That's mostly about Tokiyuki ruining his perfect life. Takauji was on track to gain control of the country through patient politicking, allowing him to maintain a spotless reputation and a peaceful life surrounded by great men with whom he shared mutual respect.
But the first attack on Kamakura ruined all of that. That's what set him and Go-Daigo against one another, made Takauji a usurper and rebel, and started a civil war in which most of the people Takauji cared about were killed, often by him.
Obviously things wouldn't have gone perfectly even if Tokiyuki had died with his family. The Ashikaga infighting in particular would have likely still happened in some form. But the rebellion in Tokiyuki's name really did mess things up for Takauji. The real life man probably didn't think of it that way. But it's not nearly as outlandish to frame it that way as the whiny anons like to act.
