You need to time travel to pre 2008. The amount of anime has nothing to do with you being a turbo newfag.

Get 20 doujins of which 5 have to be lolicon, also get 5 eroges from which one has to be lolicon.
This is the way.

You have to go to japan and be shamed by the local businessmen for the filthy oblivious gaijin pig that you are.

Specifically. You need to have started watching anime that wasn't streamed. 2000s era crunchyroll is still a really shitty way of watching anime. Bittorremt or bust.

It doesn't matter, because every normalfag and his mother (literally) have been watching anime for more than a decade at this point. You should have said manga.

real oldfags stalk animators irl and hand write their reviews in moon runes, stuffing them under the directors home door whilst they sleep
as a newfag I just rely on cryptic dreams after reading /a/ for inspiration

They stop caring about lists. If you're actually demented enough to forget that you watched a certain anime, you can just watch it a second time as if you've never seen it before.

0 seconds to just memorize it. Having to "log" it seems like a dumb chore you have to keep on your mind while watching anime.

It's not a matter of quantity. It's when you've curated your own favorite and tastes. Who cares about how many anime someone has watched

seriously tho, what is your list for? why not save up a collection, either digital or physical, of shows so you can rewatch them anytime you want

Because you watch the anime to think about it. It's not like you let the episode play while ignoring the screen, just to log the episode later.

If you need to write it down to remember that you ever watched a show, instead of it having naturally left some memorable impression on you, it was clearly not worth watching to begin with.

Or that you're mentally handicapped.

Serious answer:
You can't even stop being a newfag, not in anime and nor for anything else that you only started getting into later than the "oldfags". You can watch old stuff and end up liking it a lot more than everything else, you can understand all the cultural references and all, but that's not the point. If you weren't into the hobby as an early adopter, you won't be able to experience it in the same way as people did back then, plain and simple. Taking things out of their time-sensitive context changes both how you will perceive the content itself, and whatever discussions you can have about it.

Tell me the answer if you find it I've been here for at least 13 years and I still get called a newfag.
