KnY is trash, it was always nothing more than a mid battle shounen but which got picked up by a big money studio and turned into a Ufotable normie product. So yes’m the worldbuilding is utter trash, everything exists solely for the visual impact or to service whatever scene the mangaka wanted at the time. The protagonists are BARELY characters and the demons are not characters at all except Muzan (minimally). Applying even a little bit of thought to the plot makes it collapse immediately from almost every angle. Even as strictly a battle shounen it still sucks, asspulls are the norm and it doesn’t make any difference whatsoever who is matched up with who, the outcome will always be the same and only the dialogue and flashback content will differ. I believe Ufotable picked it up ONLY because it was cheap to acquire and their artists thought they could make something marketable out of it.
