Sounds boring, if they are not going to look like them what even is the point? And I am sure they are not going to act like them either.
What I really want is something like Saint Onii san but with bunch of other historical characters. Whack bunch of historical characters, make them dorm together ala FRIENDS and watch sheneningans ensue as all these conflicting personalities with widely different ideals and goals clash. But modern world is too soulless to do that.

Thats the whole manga, the cast of actual relevant characters is way smaller than it seems, almost everyone else is just there to be killed off even when it makes no sense because the author apparently thinks that "Killing off Character = Moving Story" with no regards for either its actually necessary or no
