is the manga any better than the anime? what are some examples of things done better in the manga?

Some are insult to eyes like

And some are filled with shitty filler like

Kishimoto’s art is better than Pierrot’s mid tier animation. Naruto manga did overuse flashbacks when reminiscing over things that happened a chapter or 2 ago, but it’s way worse in the anime. Studios like Pierrot and Toei manage to drag out a single chapter to a 18 minute episode

Pain vs Naruto is longer in the anime but the "my pain is greater than yours" is better in the manga. No weird smear face. There’s also typical censorship like Orochimaru’s lab

I see all these animes scenes where sasuke or any other character wield a sword and literally slash the opponents... NOT A SINGLE BLOOD SHRED!! now are they in the manga?? or the juugo jail introduction

Generally, Kishimoto's art looks a lot better than the show.
Occasionally the anime does elevate the source material. Kakashi vs Obito, Naruto v Sasuke 2 are worth it. The movies are decent.

Depends on what you like.
-Anime has a lot of filler which doesn't really mesh well with the fictional world.
-Anime often doesn't pace well neither inner monologues or dialogues, where times just freezes while characters interact which often draws me straight out of the story.
-While it's often done in similar style, anime (either due to lack of skill or money) often wont express the sheer awesomeness that some panels hold.
-Anime can completely miss the tone of the story.

Always pacing. The One Piece anime is a fucking trainwreck and all the flashy lights and gajillion impact frames they added recently doesn't fix this.
