I only watched the 2 ovas that summarize both seasons of sac and quite enjoyed.
First ova "the laughing man" arc its the best in my opinion.
Im not sure but I think the ovas summarize only the "complex" arcs and trims the "standalone" episodes.

it's some of the best the medium has but it will be wasted on your retarded ass

SAC is a competent tv anime, but an obvious downgrade from the manga and the movies. Innocence is basically a long SAC episode with better writing and higher production values, if you've seen it SAC doesn't have anything new to offer except for cool music (that you can listen to without watching the show).

SAC and 2nd GIG are my favorite anime of all time. They're old, they're cheesy at times, but god damn do I love them. Keep in mind 2nd GIG was released in 2004. It's more than 20 years old, of course it's not going to be as flashy and smooth as the new stuff.
