Just do the comparison yourself. Subaru sounds more mature/stern than the English voice actor in every scene, in English its too youthful, he's not supposed to be a young teen character.

Dubs aren't anime. No you weren't watching anime in the 80s because you watched Voltron. Its only anime with original VAs. Seiyuu culture and anisong are an indispensable part of anime. If you watched God Knows with that shitty english dub nearly 2 years after we did in 2006, you weren't watching anime.

All these threads feel incredibly performative and make it evident, to me, that most people here either don't watch much anime or do, in fact, watch dubbed and want to troll or something.
Like, a decade ago there didn't need to be three threads in the catalog proclaiming how enlightened one is for watching anime subbed (primarily because everyone recognized that as a crutch for not knowing Japanese), but now the board can't go two seconds without one of these threads. It reeks.

Anytime someone talks about Japan watching dubs with subtitles, they're talking out of their ass.
The only instance of that I have ever found was a singular youtube video where the dub of Dragon Ball Z had Japanese subtitles, tons of views and every comment was shitting on it like it was Toei Spider-Man.
