This sequence is great. The way he second guesses his naivete, the tears he cries when making his decision, that one page shot of his hair flipping back like his previous hairstyle but his human hand being the one to carry out the murder with a human-made weapon. What a way to tie up all the themes and Shinichi's journey. Beautifully done.

One of my favourite scene in manga and executed so well. Not unnecessarily brutal, nor preachy, nor cynical, nor condescending
A highschool boy who has the humanity to feel sorry for an animal that was about to kill him, because he was raised in comfort by loving parents. After a brief internal dialogue, he ultimately commits to killing his would-be killer, because he's human after all.
It's all so consistent and fitting

Such a good scene.
All of Shinichi's turmoil over whether he's a human or an animal.
And in the end, he makes an animal decision to finish off a predator, while feeling human remorse for it.
It was never one or the other, but both.
