The director mentioned it's impossible to adapt suikoden 2 within 1 season so he's implying that there will be multiple seasons. Is anyone hyped for Luca Blight?

The hero tales anime is basically a suikoden adaptation by another name, so the concept is already proven to be doable. The real question is how deep they are willing to go...

That's just a lesser Hakkenden.
The problem with Suikoden II is that a videogame can manage a cast one 108 characters that the MC have to recruit and then their individual story can be explored individually, because the player understands that the gameplay requires the other 107 plotlines to be paused while I go and finish this particular quest.
This shit is impossible to do in any other medium without being retarded, unless you have hundreds of episodes where you can spread multiple storylines in parallel with one another while introducing new characters in an organic matter.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes was quite literally a lightning in a bottle moment.
The project was basically doomed to failure had the first season not sold as well as it did and it needed to sell exceedingly well with every release to maintain the level of quality seen from S2 onwards, alongside its massive cast where basically every VA active at the time had a role in the show.

More or less?
And even then, the narrative in LOGh is easier to adapt because basically all main characters are already in the military and every individual storyline goes along the main narrative drive, the war between Empire and Federation. When some character disappears for a dozen episodes you think "oh, they're working in their military field and doing military stuff".
Suikoden II has a talking unicorn that tests heroes in a forest.
You see the difference?

Logh has more of the stories for characters grouped together so covering one of them covers a vast slice of the others at the same time. That's not really comparable to Suikoden's story situation.

I quite literally explained why it doesn't count.
LotGH is an exception among exceptions. Were it not for so many people buying those initial LDs, ones where the owner of the animation company had to literally beg people to buy more at the end of every single one, it would not be a completed adaptation. It would've ended, much like Kircheis, with Season One.
I'll wait and see what happens, but a Suikoden II adaptation, on paper, is pure insanity.

With a concept of 108 recruitable characters it's a lose/lose situation regardless of how you handle it.
>Don't include everyone, people will bitch about how it's dogshit cause they didn't manage to fit in all 108 characters/didn't do the good ending not matter how unfeasible it would be
>Try to aim for all 108, there is a high chance the adaptation will be total dogshit anyways and people will bitch about a garbage adaptation
The could probably get away with making characters cameo every now and then, but especially with how they're managing the IP now, with shit like the fucking Suikoden gacha game coming out, there's almost no way this doesn't end in a trainwreck unless they pull a miracle out their ass.

Perfect example that a completely irredeemable piece of shit can still be entertaining and not all villains need a forced tragic backstory or moral greyness.

I only played this for the first time around 5 years ago and he was so refreshing considering the types of antagonists we have now.

The stories are not grouped together in suikoden 2 because of the playable character limit, an adaptation could probably triple of quadruple the number of characters at a given place.

They can also do the trick that persona 4 the animation did, which is to show snippets of the more out there sidestories in the background so that experienced viewers can see they are being adapted, and the new viewers wonder at WTH is happening, all in a time efficient manner.

He has a tragic backstory though.

When he was a child he watched his mother get raped repeatedly by a bunch of hired thugs while his father fled to safety like a coward. Then he learned that the hired thugs were sent by Muse.

The Castlevania netflix adaption was an improvement over the source material. They made a lot of the flat characters from the story have development.

The only people who seethe about it are Christian right-wing tourists. The show still presented Christianity as a good force, it just portrayed Christian assholes as the antagonist. The original game did that but the show developed it more.

I liked that Nocturne made Anna use nigerian deities like Ogun and it was a shame that it wasn't continued.

In the game, half of them are irrelevant to the story, some are animals that never speak and a bunch of them have a minor backstory or no story at all, they just join you because you did a mini game. I'd argue that of the 108 playable characters the game only focuses on 20 or up to 30 at most.
