I wish I lived in the timeline where they didn't get on the fucking boat, because I actually really like the main couple's dynamic, but they feel completely wasted on the bland ass setting.

The whole thing just feels schizophrenic. The tone shifts wildly where it's trying to be Berserk one minute and then next minute it's trying to be the blandest narou-kei possible. I wonder if the author has some really aggressive editor pushing him toward the light, bland shit.
