Ik it’s reductive to compare this with TG but Batista’s design and story reminds me of a lot of Arata. Both lost the love of their life and went off into the deep end. Arata is interesting since he sort of haunts the narrative of TG with a bunch of characters using his armor, as if his pursuit of revenge just made him a tool for the people who hated most.
I think Batista’s story will have a similar trajectory: even after he dies, traces of him will impact the narrative long after

Batista already lingers through the entire story. He developed a bunch of powerful healing items, they saved Tokio twice thus far, 3 times if you count his transformation into choujin. And i think the trend will continue, maybe Palma will pick on some of his inventions and use them.
Genuinely a fantastic antagonist. Sato will have big shoes to fill if he's indeed the antagonist of second half.

I think Ishida mentioned halfway point, but I wonder if we will see it over by ch100 or so not 120s. I think we will see the aftermath of this chaos within 7 chapters, a deeper issue arises and the story scales up; then the plot finale with Azuma's visions are addressed. Sato is likely big bad or big bad jr. If I rerread the beginning I wonder if there will be some moral dilemma that Tokio will have to answer
