Why do animes from 30 years ago have better animation than todays anime?
the lifecycle of the covid newfag has reached the point where they start fellating old anime and rejecting modernity. is this a good thing? who knows. is it going to be really annoying? definitely.

Modern anime is really, really bad. I have 140 threads hidden in my catalog.

Cowboy Bebop was an outlier and we have outliers like that today too
Most anime was low effort trash back then, as it is now.

Real reason: time. Studios weren't making 4 episodes per week.

It's not like putting lines on paper has changed much over even 100 years. Some tech has gotten better, but there's no reason why you should expect animation to improve to any significant degree with time. Any more than you should expect a painting made today to be better than a painting from hundreds of years ago. I do think the quality of the average TV anime's animation has improved over the 90s and before though. The "I was born in the wrong generation' crowd really doesn't seem to know just how shitty TV animation could get.
