I've been reading The vertical world because of these threads.
It's nice how it takes full advantage of the infinite scrolling format, but the further I read the more it seems the story is made up on the spot.
Still a fun read so far (ch85).

Because it was, Tanaka admitted it himself >However, at first, I didn't even know the full story. I had a vague idea of the origin of the name "Omega" (taken from Tipler's omega point) and the spaceship that appeared in chapter 3, but beyond that, even I knew absolutely nothing. I was just drawing whatever I liked. Thankfully, I was allowed to officially serialize it on Jump+ (and draw the illustrations myself) , and it was only then that I was able to begin to work out the overall picture. Why a long world? Who exactly is Omega? Who is Ruska? There's a game called "Turtle Soup." I dug into the causes in a similar way, and after I'd decided on the general outline, I started serialization, but the characters just wouldn't reach their goal! I'm relieved that they made it there safely. (The PeePee world was especially intense. I wondered if they'd actually make it.) While I believe portraying the characters' emotions is important in serialization, I was also glad, though perhaps a little self-indulgent, that I was able to slip in themes I normally feel, like, "What is the world, anyway?" (especially about infinity), "What is time?", and "What is the mind?" Looking back, there are a few things I wish I'd done differently (especially if I should have practiced my drawing skills more before starting...) , but I think I was able to depict everything I wanted to. I'm truly grateful to the Jump+ editorial team for allowing me to draw until the end , even though the number of views wasn't particularly good. https://manga-no.com/@tanakakuu/mangafolio/external_works/116d31909af95ef6064

It's fine up until the war and pp and omega queen that part is pretty messy, he had no clue what he was doing
Come to think of it, that's probably it goes in the direction it did and just totally abandons that setting.
The last act of the manga after that is fine though.

Very interesting information. Hopefully the current story won't be as touch and go. >>I'm truly grateful to the Jump+ editorial team for allowing me to draw until the end , even though the number of views wasn't particularly good.
I wonder if this story would've made it to the end if it was published today.

Me too, since I didn't expect her to last this long and things are getting dangerous again. But Bertie, Morse, and maybe Epsilon already died so I think there's room for a recurring party member.

At the very least they had 8 chapters ready before the serialization and Tanaka recently said he already storyboarded several future chapters.
