>The series literally opens with “and then Louise did a magic spell to summon a familiar, a spell which has no limitations on it”. You do not have to lift a single finger to justify why a summoning and/or crossover is happening
>The setting is a veritable powder keg waiting to go off, and is, in fact, about five minutes from doing so in canon. Albion’s in the ending stretch of a civil war, Gallia is run by a madman who starts wars in order to feel SOMETHING in his empty void of a heart, Romalia is doing secret spy shit all the time, Tristain is on the verge of being absorbed by Germania, the leaders of the Albion revolutionary army are fucking around behind the scenes with dark magic, and Tristain itself is essentially bizarro fantasy France circa. the early 1600s, with Henrietta taking the place of Louis the 13th. There is infinite fucking potential for shit happening, and Louise is in a prime position to interact with all of it

They turned Louise into a massive bitch, Saito into a dumb asshole and Siesta into a whore.
They changed and skipped entire character arcs and even whole volumes.

You know how Saito dies at the end of S2 only to come back 3 minutes later? He was supposed to stay dead for a full volume, which they obviously skipped. That volume had great scenes like Guiche making a statue in Saito's honor, or Louise trying to kill herself.

That divide was integral to the setting in s1 and Siesta ends up giving up on Saito because she subconsciously believes Louise is inherently better than her and thus better for Saito. Then from the second season onwards it's lol fuck it I'll just be a whore and there is almost no mention of that aspect of the setting again, and then it gets thrown out entirely after Saito gains a knighthood. s2+ feels like a different and much worse show compared to the first season.
