Similar experience. Most of the entry-level jobs were pretty much run as a charity to keep divorced old men and single mothers off the street. Not in the context of the series but in the whole anime-manga world I do think it's rare.
Because it's not your smug hyper-competent ikemen or lone wolf that happens more commonly in series but a literal clown, fwa fwa guy, which is way uncommon for a main male lead/love interest.

I at least don't remember other series that do this with their main characters. I remember the right hand dude in Nisekoi being like this and having his romance arc and sometimes the secondary characters in other romcomcs, but haven't seen other MC being like that

The only problem I have with Servant x Service is that it didn't fully adapt the manga. There's not enough material for a second season but the anime original ending prevented any possibility of finishing it with ovas unless they ignore it. The manga tied up all the plotlines of all the different couples nicely.
