I don't think Umineko's ending makes no sense. When a story deals with themes like truth, perception, and human relationships and builds that through constantly shifting perspectives and layered storytelling, it’s only natural that the ending feels complex or difficult to grasp at first.
The ambiguity in the VN was an intentional technique, meant to make you reason your way through the lies and perspectives to reach your own understanding of the truth. It’s part of the experience.
And besides, the manga version of Episode 8 gives us a clear and conclusive resolution. It directly confirms the culprit’s identity, motive, and psychological background. That shows the entire narrative was always coherent within a consistent internal logic. The VN just wanted you to work for that realization, while the manga lays it out plainly.
