There's nothing inherently wrong with these type of shows, but the fans tries to make it bigger than it seem and different from the peers by saying stupid shit like:

When in reality, the majority of Bisque viewers are men. And almost everyone who watched this only talks about Marin. Nobody cares about Gojo. Compare it with his fellow Gojo (Satoru) from JJK. The series got plenty of sexy girls and good looking men, but not a single one came close to Satoru's popularity.
While in Bisque case, Wakana could've easily been replaced by someone else, and people opinion of Marin (and her series) wouldn't change in the slightest.
