Why was he always hiding when he was cable of creating something like Genos who surpassed even Bofoi's creations? The only other explanation was that he had another ulterior motive and now we are seeing it clearly. IMO the thing about Genos is that he started out as an actual cyborg based off of a bunch of specs (if Kuseno really is evil) he got from Metal Knight's machines. Genos then got upgraded over time. honestly i think its not unlikely for saitama to actually be promoted to S class following this. we're pretty likely reaching some kind of end point for the webcomic and ONE is independent and savvy enough of a writer to actually follow through with sensible plot progression rather than drag things out like someone beholden to a long term serialization. if anything saitama becoming S class could lead to a lot of interesting character moments and plot development. he's finally gotten what he theoretically wants, i.e. recognition for his abilities and deeds as a hero. how does he feel about it? what aspects of his life change? how does he deal with the fame and status of s class as someone who generally detests both attention and obsequious behavior? i would look forward to seeing how ONE writes in a scenario that is historically a difficult one for mangaka's to write within, that being the endgame of a story and the manifest results of a character's ambitions.

i think it seems like it wouldn't change all that much mainly because ONE has actually been slowly incrementing saitama's status in the hero association as the webcomic progresses. but every time saitama has a very public act of heroism or does rank up significantly things do change for him. the sea king and meteor arcs brought some negative attention to him that culminated in the tank top tiger and black hole incident, b class brought fubuki into the mix, a class and moreso the post monster association world brought about amai mask's arc as well as forte's crew. but S class is a whole different story. constant media attention, special missions from the hero association, deference from all other classes of hero, there's a lot that comes with it. saitama himself might not change all that much but the world will bend itself around him in very new ways. also, i think its more or less inevitable that they change his name in the registry to one punch man, and maybe along with that he uses his sway as S class to get the hero name victims changed as well.

not obviously evil but going back to chapter 140 there are a lot of moments that are great recontextualized. when genos brings up his belief of bofoi's involvement kuseno does his very best to direct him and saitama away from a direct confrontation that he knows has the potential to blow his cover. it's sort of strange because we get a lot of his own internal monologue throughout the chapter, but none of it is so completely innocent sounding as to make the twist seem unnatural
