He didn't write the script, but gave the general plot outline.

It had a few (and I do mean few) genuinely good scenes, but overall I feel my life would've been better if I hadn't watched it. People love to shit on DEENgurashi's art but in my opinion the sameface character design and overly glossy, plastic clothes and hair of gou/sotsu look way worse than anything the old show did.

Eh, I don't think you can complain about sameface in Gou/Sotsu, they for some reason even gave different faces to Mion and Shion (who should have the same face), and you had the disaster that was high school Rika in most of her scenes since the staff had trouble with her face compared to other characters.

The animation was competent enough, the writing wasn't. Even badly written anime don't end up wiping their shit over a 100 hours VN. The only reason this didn't blow up more than it already did was because most intelligent people had already given up on R07, but it's still impressive to see him go from 5 to 2/10
