Boruto should have been like a thousand years after Naruto in a more modern era. The stories of Naruto & Sasuke should have been stuff of legends similar to Indra/ Ashura. Boruto could be a descendant of Naruto, but I think he shouldn't know much about his ancestor.

do Naruto part 1 over again without making the mistakes Naruto eventually did. So delve deeper into the ninja world, give some focus to beloved side characters, keep power scaling on the lower end, use more clever ninja tactics, less ocular jutsu, basically do the opposite of what I've heard Boruto eventually ended up doing. I did hear part 1 Boruto had a lot of comfy Konoha slice of life moments similar to part 1 Naruto, but not sure how much of that was filler.

I'm actually working on a big long rewrite. Basically after the Nagato fight they don't ignore the fact that Naruto can learn stuff at multiplied speed thanks to shadow clones and they organize a whole big training project to prepare Naruto to fight whoever has the tailed beasts, Sasuke and Kabuto. Sakura develops special chakra pills that can regenerate his clones allowing him to make even more and for indefinite time as long as he has a supply chain.

So the premise is this, Naruto sends his clones on three missions simultanously. One goes with a witch that tells him how to release the hokage souls and enter the underworld through blood sacrifice. In the underworld he finds a shinigami blocking his path. He befriends the shinigami by pretending to be his cool buddy at one party to make him look cool in front of his friends that think the shinigami is a loser. Naruto fails by being a loser but it makes the shinigami look cool in comparison so he's happy. This allows him to enter the underworld and train in the Toad Ninja House with Jirayia, Minato and Nagato (They have to make Naruto strong enough to beat Hashirama to settle a bet Jirayia made).

The other missions are training in Konoha and raiding Orochimaru's bases for jutsu and research which are mostly in the background.

But the main body has the most important storyline which is travelling to a far away continent called the Vast Earth to find a legendary martial arts master to study martial arts but also explore the huge world that is out there, have a bunch of bizzarre adventures in this strange world and write it all down for Tsunade. He has to come back in a year though to deal with the threats to Konoha.

I have a solid amount of content and details planned although it's still very much WIP

I pick up after the bridge arc and keep things grounded as ninja black-ops instead of them becoming super powered nuke throwing aliens.

Redo the pain arc so that Sasuke gets brought into Pain's influence via one of the Akatsuki rings he should have from Orochimaru or Itachi.
Sasuke initially attacking the village and prioritizing finding the elders while going along with the order to suss out where Naruto is.
After losing to Tsunade, Sasuke getting caught up in almighty push, only survives due to Sakura directing Katsuyu to protect him.
Regains consciousness to witness Naruto defeated by deva Pain and impaled, his body moves on its own and stands up to Pain.
Naruto sees Pain crush Sasuke and impale him.
Sasuke dying in Sakura's arms, with his last words being to give his eyes to Naruto to finish his business with the elders and avenge the Uchiha.
Sakura preparing the eyes while Naruto finishes things with Pain.
Sasuke awkwardly getting revived without eyes but saying he talked to Itachi in purgatory and he's just gonna go ahead and get the EMS now and he's still holding Naruto to cleaning up the village he intends to run as hokage and he won't give him long to handle it himself.
Sasuke reconvening back with Obito where he is treated with hashirama cells while recovering with newly transplanted eyes.
Some bullshit happens and there's now 3 pairs of rinnegan for the war.

Also everyone having powers up the ass was what made the series retarded. The war arc is bad for many reasons but one of them is the fact that all the main cast and villains are basically gods in human size which was utterly stupid. Honestly at the very least, if part 2 was more like part 1, it would have been perfect.

1. Tenten. Kiba is kinda boring and while Shino's kinda interesting, bugs get boring fast. Tenten could be like Rock Lee but with weapons, there's tons of cool weapons to use and seeing more of her would have been great.

2. Sasuke. He should have been a secondary character rather than the second main. He sucks in many different ways and the less of him would have been so much better.

3. Choji dying would be like Asuma dying for Shika so Shika dying would be more interesting. Lee is kinda alright with his character so him dying would be kinda meh.

Neji has no beef with the Leaf Village itself, rather the clan that killed his father. Shino wouldn’t make sense being he’s such a mellow guy.
