Have I fucked up my career?
>I live in the UK have a bachelors in Criminology and a Masters in Law.
>Both solid 2:1's and the Masters is from an RG university.
>Graduated 2 years ago.
>Stupidly believe I could become a solicitor easily.
>Got a job as a Paralegal, decent wage but its not to my liking.
>Have spent the last two years applying for training contracts everywhere.
>Spending weeks at a time on research on firms.
>I haven't got a single interview.
>Try the networking events, add people on LinkedIn and all that BS.
>Nothing ever comes of it.
>Finally get some face time with a lawyer in the firm I work at.
>Have a conversation over lunch, he basically confirms to me that most firms already have the people picked when the ad goes up.
>If a firm has 5 places, 4 are for friends and family and 1 is for a diversity hire.
>He says on paper my CV is perfect, but Law is a closed shop and the only diverse things about me is that i'm from a working class family and that i'm the first in my family to go to university.
>Basically told that I'm slamming my head against a brickwall that i'll never break through.

At this point I'm just feeling done, on paper I've done everything right but cant achieve what I want. I've been looking at changing careers but don't really know what to do. A friend of mine has suggested Project management as it has pretty decent salaries, but a part of me doesn't want to give up on this. Would anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Does anyone know any career paths a law degree would help with?

Your best.

>Does anyone know any career paths a law degree would help with?
Perhaps in insurance as an insurance adjuster.

I'm in a very similar situation albeit in a different field. The job market sucks ass nowadays for younger guys trying to start up their careers, legitimately has me stressing out over a lot of things

Yeah I fell for the university scam, but I'd argue law isn't a meme degree, also I went to a Russell Group uni which is supposed to be 'prestigious' in theory,

I've heard a lot of people say that, it feels like a lot of young men are going to be stuck in the shit wage bracket for years.

Are most younger dudes actually dealing with that? Talked to a zoomer with a Bachelors in accounting and MBA in finance that works for American Airlines today while volunteering

I think it may depend on the industry. I know a lot of people in the legal industry working for just above minimum wage.
