I am incredibly mentally unstable and need to be kept in a mental institution but I have no option but to pretend to be neurologically healthy as I have to take care of my mom by sending her $3,000 a month.

Any advice? She's a mentally ill schizophrenic and would be homeless without my help.

If you're functioning outside of the asylum you can probably do it long term. Focus on taking care of your health, exercise, get sunlight, eat healthy. That ought to keep you functioning long term.
Don't make excuses, your mental abnormality is not a justification to be a degenerate.

You can set up a trust fund or just a bank account in her name with instructions to send her a check each month. Any bank can do this

What country are you in? If you are in the U.S. and get institutionalized it's incredibly difficult to get out, you may never leave. It's why mentally ill people choose to go to prison rather than asylums here.
